city of Madinah was "YATHRIB" Just to expound on this, 

Yathrib means the place

of sickness, After Nabi place his Mubarak foot in this city, It

 became known as Madinatul

Munawarah the city of Noor, also it is said that

the sand of this city has qualities of Shifa! Allahu
